What It Is

Estradiol 1.1mg Capsule is an oral medication containing estradiol. Estradiol is a form of estrogen. It is commonly prescribed as part of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for women.

This medication helps supplement the body's natural estrogen levels. It addresses symptoms associated with estrogen deficiency.

How It Works

Estradiol 1.1mg Capsule delivers estradiol into your system. Estradiol is the primary estrogen hormone. It plays a key role in many bodily functions.

By replacing estrogen, this medication helps to alleviate various symptoms. These symptoms are often experienced during menopause or due to other conditions causing low estrogen.

Benefits

Using Estradiol 1.1mg Capsule can help reduce common menopausal symptoms. These may include hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness.

It also supports bone density. This can help reduce the risk of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. Your clinician will discuss if this medication is right for you.

Important Safety Information

Serious Warnings & Precautions

Estrogen-alone therapy may increase the risk of endometrial cancer in women with a uterus. The Women's Health Initiative (WHI) study reported an increased risk of stroke and deep vein thrombosis in postmenopausal women receiving estrogen plus progestin therapy. An increased risk of breast cancer was also observed with estrogen plus progestin therapy. Estrogen-alone therapy did not increase the risk of stroke or deep vein thrombosis in the WHI study, but did increase the risk of stroke in some studies. Discuss these risks with your clinician before starting treatment.

Contraindications

Estradiol 1.1mg Capsule should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. These include undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding, breast cancer, or other estrogen-dependent neoplasia. It is also contraindicated in individuals with active deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or a history of these conditions. Acute liver disease or impairment, and known hypersensitivity to any component of the product are also contraindications. Discuss your full medical history with your clinician.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects may include nausea, breast tenderness, headache, bloating, and vaginal bleeding or spotting. These effects are usually mild and often decrease with continued use. If any side effect persists or worsens, contact your clinician.

Drug Interactions

Certain medications can interact with Estradiol 1.1mg Capsule. These include some antibiotics, antifungals, anticonvulsants, and herbal products like St. John's Wort. These interactions can affect how estradiol works or increase side effects. Always inform your clinician about all medications and supplements you are taking.

Important Safety Information

Before starting Estradiol 1.1mg Capsule, a thorough medical history and physical examination, including blood pressure, breast, and pelvic exams, should be performed. Regular follow-up examinations are recommended. Report any unusual vaginal bleeding, breast lumps, severe headaches, or vision changes to your clinician immediately.
